However, my passion for the written word began a lot earlier than that. I still remember the day my English teacher at GCSE level put my short story done and written in blue ink was that I have a natural flare for writing. That was it, I wanted to be a journalist.
I went to the University of Lincoln and graduated with a 2.1 in Journalism and a very large smile on my face. However, fresh out of university and into the big wide world where jobs were scarce I looked for any job that would take me. Luckily I had a contact who had started a magazine and was in need of an editor. I jumped to the chance and took it in a new direction, filling the pages with Suffolk lifestyle features.
My time at the magazine was cut short as I was volunteering to gain some additional experience and my search for a permanent role commenced once more. This time it took me in a completely different direction and I was introduced to the world of digital marketing.
Starting off as a newbie copywriter who didn't know SERPS existed and had no idea what they meant by keywords. It was a completely different language and to swim I had to learn quickly.
Three years later I have now delved more into the marketing side of things, working closely with the SEO team to improve link building activity.
WFTW is where I can write all my knowledge down and share it with you. Everything that I have tested, all the new formats I've tried and so on is all here.
